Running errands yesterday gave me an opportunity to listen to some podcasts- at least until my mind takes off on a good point made.  This podcast was rewound a lot… As Brene says, “Stop. Say that again.”  

Trying to figure out the balance of connecting while distancing can be challenging. Stop. Breathe. Reflect. Ask yourself, “what am I needing right now? What is one thing I can do to meet that need?”

Dr. Murthy shares:

“Researchers have identified 3 dimensions of loneliness to reflect the particular type of relationships that are missing:

Intimate: Our emotional loneliness is the longing for a close confidant or intimate partner someone with whom you share a deep mutual bond of affection and trust;

Relational or Social Loneliness: The yearning for quality friendships and social companionship and support;

Collective loneliness: The hunger for a network or community of people who share your sense of purpose and interests.”
